I speak two languages, Body and English.
— Mae West

Blair is a Psychological Associate completing her candidacy with the Psychological Association of Manitoba, teaches sessionally at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan) and is registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Her early work in child protection, alongside her curiosity of how the whole being, body-mind-soul, experiences both internal and external environments lead her to prioritize body-centred interventions for post-traumatic growth and transformation. Her current focus is to help clients move toward creative expression for deeper connection to community and self, however her work has specialized in psychological treatment, assessment, education and program development in the areas of post-traumatic stress; addictions; violent and sexual abuse; and emotional regulation with an emphasis on depression and anger. This is paired with a variety of integrated orientations to address clients’ individual needs, such as Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Somatic Experiencing, Bioenergetic, Solution-Focused, Existential, and particularly Gestalt therapies, along with Behavioural Modalities while incorporating the foundations of Transpersonal Psychology.

The field of Forensic Psychology is where the judicial system overlaps with mental health. Working within this milieu gave Blair a background in providing therapeutic and assessment services to those who have been in conflict with the law, along with fire and emergency response workers, law enforcement personnel and emergency room staff. This allowed a lens for how the body-mind experiences and processes acute, chronic and complex traumas, along with their tied emotions. By cultivating a deep understanding of this relationship, she maintains a passion for walking alongside all individuals on their path toward connection, health, creativity and growth.

Blair obtained her Masters in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver, Colorado, clinical supervised practice at Forensic Psychological Services in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and her undergraduate degree in Human Security and Fine Art from the University of British Columbia. Outside of the field of mental health, her professional life has included communications work with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and investigative work in the realm of child protection and online exploitation. She holds a non-dual outlook on life that continues to deepen through experience, love, spiritual practice, and study. These all allow for more capacity to dive into the mystery, which pulls back the layers to reveal our true Selves.

“Having had the privilege of phenomenal mentorship, I’ve learned that the magic lies in our ability to integrate the creativity of the mind with the intelligence of the body.”

“Somewhere, right at the bottom of one’s own being, one generally does know where one should go and what one should do. But there are times when the clown we call “I” behaves in such a distracting fashion that the inner voice cannot make its presence felt.”

-C. G. Jung
